How we created a customized API and the unexpected value for Swikly

Swikly, a platform for caution management for rental businesses, wanted to improve its partner experience and protect itself from credit card default risk. Seyna was brought in to design an insurance product and connect it to Swikly’s platform, but the existing API was too complex and poorly matched to Swikly’s business model, making integration and documentation difficult.

Seyna solved this by building a new customized API from scratch, using GraphQL and supporting a parallel legacy/new connection during launch. The result was a much faster onboarding process, with launch delay cut from 3 weeks to 1 week, fewer localization issues, and better partner adoption. Seyna also enabled Swikly to automate other internal processes, such as accounting, beyond the original insurance use case.
