Bottlecup, a company aiming to reduce disposable cup waste, partnered with design firm Seymourpowell to address a significant environmental challenge. With billions of single-use cups being thrown away annually in the UK, the founders sought to create a convenient reusable alternative. Seymourpowell was engaged for product design to develop a single item that could effectively replace both disposable water bottles and coffee cups.

Seymourpowell designed an innovative two-in-one product featuring a stainless-steel water bottle that locks inside a matching cup with a simple twist. The solution provides an ergonomic, leak-proof design where both elements function independently without compromise, and all components are fully recyclable. The impactful result was the creation of Bottlecup, a seamless product that addresses convenience and sustainability, which was subsequently shortlisted for a prestigious Dezeen Award in 2023.
