Shortening Lead Time and Reducing Labor Costs by Leveraging Indoor Tracking RTLS

SEG Automotive used Sewio Networks’ RTLS with IBCS Hungary to replace a manual warehouse-to-production booking process. Its warehousing and production buildings are separated by a 10-minute truck drive, and the company needed more accurate, real-time tracking of assets moving through closely positioned gates to support just-in-time supply.

IBCS Hungary implemented Sewio Networks’ UWB RTLS across a 2,000 m2 area with 40 receivers and 600 tracked objects, integrated with the existing WMS and other systems. The result was 100% booking accuracy in the proof of concept, 99,9% reliability versus 95% with RFID, 15% of employees over three shifts shifted from routine booking work to other tasks, and lead time cut in half from 6 hours to 3 hours.
