Jan Linders - Customer Case Study

Jan Linders Supermarkets, a supermarket chain in the southern part of the Netherlands, wanted to understand the routes customers took through its stores and whether changing the layout or placing products differently would influence those routes. The company worked with Sewio Networks on a retail analysis project using an RTLS system.

Sewio Networks tracked customer movement in areas of interest for two weeks, with the supermarket layout changed after the first week. Around 4,500 customers participated, and the analysis showed the hot-spots and most commonly taken routes in both layouts. Jan Linders then made changes based on the findings, and those changes successfully directed customers to specific areas of the supermarket and influenced what they bought.
