Indoor Tracking System for Ensuring Production Quality

NovoPlan, a Germany-based surface technology company, wanted to digitize its full production process and improve quality management in a complex coating environment. It needed real-time visibility, accurate 3D positioning, process time measurement, and ERP integration across 700 m2, while meeting a localization accuracy requirement of less than 30 cm in a harsh setting with concrete, metal, chemical processes, and a moving crane.

Sewio Networks provided an RTLS installation through QUALIGON using UWB positioning, with 13 receivers and an open API connected to NovoPlan’s in-house ERP system. The project delivered 30 cm accuracy with confidence level R98, 100% products with actual quality data and status, and a 6-month implementation time, while giving production and management teams a real-time view of object flows and bottlenecks.
