Improving Site Operations Thanks to Obtaining Full Visibility and Transparency of the Material Flow

Tosyalı Harsco needed better visibility into material flow in its 18,000 m2 scrap yard in Osmaniye, Turkey, where 6 overhead cranes, 2 ground vehicles, and dusty, metal-heavy conditions made indoor tracking difficult. The company also wanted to improve employee safety by detecting dangerous proximity between cranes and ground vehicles. It chose Sewio Networks RTLS for the project.

Sewio Networks, implemented with Argeloji, installed 83 anchors and tagged 6 cranes and 2 ground vehicles, then integrated the RTLS with BlueOperation On-Edge Processors and Harsco’s production management software. The system went live in 2 months and helped Tosyalı Harsco achieve a 15% increase in production efficiency, a 20% decrease in on-site accidents, and improved crane safety awareness.
