PRAKAB, a Prague-based cable manufacturer with more than 100 years of history, wanted to reduce production costs by eliminating waste and human error in its supply chain and production processes. In its harsh metal-heavy factory environment, the company needed reliable real-time data to improve material use, forklift efficiency, and traceability across indoor and outdoor areas.

Using Sewio Networks’ UWB RTLS, PRAKAB tracked 10,000+ coils by monitoring 12 forklifts, with QR code identification, lift sensing, and weight sensing integrated into the workflow. The system helped save 2% of copper annually, cut €10,400 in monthly unproductive search time, reduce material handling costs by 12%, increase warehouse utilization by 15%, and achieve a 12-month payback period.
