Case Study: Volkswagen Slovakia increases warehouse utilization with Sewio Networks

Digitization in Automotive Industry by Leveraging Real-time Location System and Digital Twin

Volkswagen Slovakia needed better visibility into intralogistics across a harsh, variable warehouse environment where forklifts, AGVs, and metal pallets had to be tracked accurately. The company wanted to digitize movement in the hall, understand traffic density and bottlenecks, and support a digital twin initiative with real-time localization.

Sewio Networks provided an indoor positioning system delivered with CEIT’s Ella software platform, covering 10,000 m² and tracking 70 objects with 50 cm accuracy and a 333 millisecond refresh rate. The project was deployed in six months and helped Volkswagen Slovakia achieve a 20% increase in warehouse utilization, 10% less distance traveled among the fleet, and a maximum 20% difference in OEE among the fleet after balancing.
