A SevOne Case Study
Comcast Business, a US-based provider of Carrier and Metro Ethernet services, was facing rapid growth in network data and needed better end-to-end visibility to manage performance, capacity planning, service quality, and SLA compliance. Its legacy nodal-centric tools were too manual and slow, especially for Ethernet backhaul where consistent service matters more than individual node failures. Comcast Business turned to SevOne and its Performance Appliance Solution (SevOne PAS) to support a more service-centric approach.
SevOne implemented real-time monitoring and proactive alerting across about 2.2 million elements on 40,000 devices, with integrations into Comcast’s service management, data warehouse, and customer self-service portal. The results included improved SLA assurance, proactive prediction of call quality during peak times, fewer truck rolls and customer complaints, weather-based performance correlation, and consolidation of EMS performance metrics into one tool. Comcast Business said SevOne helped deliver both internal and external visibility and reduce costs by avoiding service impacts and complaints.
