OxyShop delivers high availability PostgreSQL quickly with Severalnines

OxyShop, a Czech e-commerce solutions provider, faced the challenge of ensuring high availability for a PostgreSQL database backend for a large client's site. They needed an automatic failover solution to meet strict SLAs and avoid costly downtime, but lacked the time and resources to build a custom high availability management system in-house. They turned to vendor Severalnines and its ClusterControl product to provide a solution.

Severalnines implemented ClusterControl to manage a highly available PostgreSQL setup with streaming replication. The solution provided automatic failover, detected primary node failures, and promoted a secondary node, all fronted by a redundant HAProxy load balancer for transparent application connectivity. This allowed OxyShop to quickly deploy a proven, battle-tested high availability stack, ensuring the site remained operational and the project was delivered on time for the busy holiday shopping season.
