OxyShop, a Czech eCommerce solution provider, faced the challenge of ensuring high availability for a new client's PostgreSQL database to meet strict SLAs. They needed an automatic failover solution to avoid downtime, as manual intervention would take too long and directly impact their clients' ability to sell products. The team evaluated Severalnines and its ClusterControl product as a potential solution to manage a highly available Postgres setup.

By implementing Severalnines' ClusterControl, OxyShop deployed a complete high availability stack with automated failover, fronted by HAProxy. This allowed the system to self-heal by promoting a secondary node in case of a primary failure, keeping the site running without manual intervention. The solution was implemented quickly, with the production build taking only two days, ensuring the project was delivered on time for the holiday shopping season and providing OxyShop's sysadmins with an easy-to-use tool for ongoing database management.
