Fujitsu - Customer Case Study

Fujitsu Technology Solutions GmbH (Fujitsu) faced inefficient, paper-based tracking of component carts in its Augsburg manufacturing plant and needed a mobile, networked solution that would integrate with its production planning system. SES-imagotag supplied an ePaper electronic shelf label (ESL) solution—440 G1 2.7" labels—to replace paper notes and provide real-time, on-cart information.

SES-imagotag’s ePaper labels were integrated via API with Fujitsu’s production system and supported by six LANCOM WLAN access points to ensure roaming coverage; the displays show barcodes, product family, quantities, storage lane and timestamps and alert when batteries or maintenance are needed. The 2016 deployment of 440 labels eliminated paper and printer maintenance costs, improved material-flow quality assurance across the 1,500‑employee facility, and streamlined cart transport and scanning processes.
