Managed Service Provider Realizes Significant Benefits By Replacing Open Source with ServicePilot ISM

e-Qual, a managed services provider operating across 45 countries, relied on several open source monitoring products to manage more than 500 network nodes and hundreds of servers. Over time, the company found the tools difficult and costly to maintain, especially because it had spent nearly five years building custom interfaces, access controls, and object interdependency features that had to be reworked with each new software release. ServicePilot was brought in to replace this patchwork approach with ServicePilot ISM.

ServicePilot implemented and enhanced ServicePilot ISM to meet e-Qual’s requirements, including improved event correlation to reduce false alerts and support for custom indicators and SLA reporting. As a result, e-Qual gained more proactive monitoring, fewer actionable alerts, more accurate service reporting, and significant cost savings by eliminating ongoing development and maintenance of the open source tools. The company said it could now focus on its core expertise while ServicePilot handled the monitoring platform.
