Address Validation and Geocode adds value to insurance software

Guidewire, a provider of insurance software including the SurePower Innovation Policy Administration Suite, needed to close gaps in its address data and improve risk-property location accuracy. To solve this, Guidewire turned to Service Objects and its address verification web services, including DOTS Address Validation US and DOTS Address Geocode US.

Service Objects implemented APIs that standardized and corrected addresses, extracted address components, and returned geocodes such as latitude, longitude, ZIP code, tract code, and block code. The results were significant: Guidewire has used the services since 2008 to validate more than 23 million addresses, improve the delivery of time-sensitive insurance notices, and let customers map and verify risk properties in Google Maps and Street View.
