A Serrala Case Study
thyssenkrupp AG, a global industrial conglomerate with nearly 500 subsidiaries, was struggling with a highly fragmented finance IT landscape: more than 100 SAP ERP systems, 150+ non-SAP ERP systems, and over 2,000 bank accounts. This created major challenges around visibility, standardization, connectivity, and automation across treasury and payments processes. To address these issues, thyssenkrupp turned to Serrala and its FinanceSuite, including payment management and bank connectivity tools.
Serrala’s FinanceSuite helped thyssenkrupp connect disparate ERP systems to a central SAP environment, standardize payment data, and automate bank statement processing, reconciliation, and bank account administration through modules such as Payment Management, Account Statement Manager, AutoBank, and eBAM. The company improved process efficiency, reduced manual work, and gained centralized control over bank accounts and statements while continuing its global rollout. Although the case study does not provide hard metrics, thyssenkrupp reported smoother SAP S/4HANA upgrade migration and a path toward greater straight-through processing, including planned sanctions screening automation with Serrala.
