Estée Lauder Companies streamlines treasury for 175+ subsidiaries with Serrala

The Estée Lauder Companies, a global leader in prestige beauty, faced challenges with fragmented and manual treasury operations across its 175+ subsidiaries. With over 35 banking relationships and a reliance on costly external services for $650M in monthly settlements, the company needed a unified solution to streamline payments and improve cash visibility. They partnered with Serrala to implement SAP In-House Banking (IHB/IHC) to centralize its global treasury structure.

Serrala designed and implemented a fully integrated SAP IHB solution, establishing three in-house banking centers to optimize cash pooling across 25 currencies. This enabled automated payments-on-behalf-of (PoBo), a single SWIFT gateway, and straight-through processing for settlements. The results included settling 200,000+ monthly invoices via automated book transfers, a significant reduction in bank fees and FX costs, and enhanced liquidity control. Serrala's solution provided Estée Lauder with greater efficiency, real-time visibility, and lower external borrowing costs.
