Serenic Navigator Creates Efficiencies for American Urological Association

The American Urological Association, based in Linthicum, Maryland, needed a more flexible financial management system to track financial data across three business groups and more than 300 programs. Its old system had outlived its lifecycle, could not easily provide the data management wanted, and created reconciliation problems when reports had to be recreated in Excel. The AUA also needed deferred accounting for events and better access for non-core users.

The AUA went live with Serenic Software’s Serenic Navigator for Microsoft Dynamics NAV in January 2007. The system added deferred accounting, fund accounting, Excel-based reporting, and drill-down access to data, while also interfacing with the TIMSS membership system and bank files. The accounting team now saves a day each month on nearly 300 monthly P&L reports, saves another day on company-wide monthly reports, and the total cost came in under budget and below what it paid for its previous system.
