A Seqera Case Study
Sage Bionetworks, a Seattle-based biomedical research nonprofit, needed a scalable, collaborative environment to simplify bioinformatics analysis, support growing data volumes, meet governance and compliance requirements, and make workflows accessible to non-technical users. Before adopting Seqera, their internally developed scripts and workflows were difficult to maintain, costly to run in the cloud, and harder to manage across multiple research communities.
Seqera implemented the Seqera platform with AWS Batch and nf-core community pipelines to automate end-to-end processing, improve collaboration, and streamline access control and reporting. With Seqera, Sage Bionetworks cut workflow time by 50% compared with running jobs individually on EC2, spent 80% less time developing workflows, and gained better efficiency, throughput, grant-aligned usage reporting, and HIPAA-compliant data governance.
