A Seqera Case Study
Addgene, a global non-profit biomedical research repository, needed to scale its plasmid sequencing and quality control as incoming materials and its growing plasmid library quickly outpaced existing analysis capacity. To support expanded on-premises sequencing, Addgene needed a way to automate end-to-end processing while continuing to reuse its in-house scripts and tools.
Seqera provided Nextflow and nf-core community pipelines to orchestrate Addgene’s sequencing workflow, including data retrieval, FASTQ conversion, adapter trimming, quality scoring, k-mer counting, and sequence assembly. With Seqera’s solution, Addgene was able to process and QC hundreds of plasmid genomes per week, achieve faster runtimes and lower costs, reduce manual effort by 9-fold, shorten cycle times, and improve productivity while seamlessly using both on-premises and cloud resources.
