Mount Aloysius College faced growing pain from an overly complex backup environment that required two servers to meet backup windows across a mixed virtual and physical infrastructure (VMware ESXi cluster, Windows/Linux servers, MS SQL including the critical Jenzabar database). With their previous software struggling to complete backups on time and becoming difficult to manage, the College evaluated alternatives and selected SEP Software’s backup and disaster recovery solution.
SEP Software deployed a centralized backup platform (including deduplication features) and streamlined management with its Last Backup State GUI and support services. As a result, backups now run at least twice as fast, the College consolidated from two backup servers to one, and jobs consistently complete within the backup window; SEP Software’s responsive support (1–3 hour case responses) and intuitive interface further simplified operations.
