A SEP Software Case Study

Preview of the Mediaprint Case Study

Mediaprint - Customer Case Study

Mediaprint, Austria’s largest newspaper and magazine publisher, faced a decentralized, manpower‑intensive backup environment protecting massive production data across 50 servers, 12 clustered nodes and 2,300 workstations. Seeking a single, easy‑to‑manage solution, Mediaprint evaluated multiple vendors and selected SEP Software’s backup and disaster‑recovery platform (including its central GUI and SEP Master Server) to replace their legacy system.

SEP Software delivered a centrally managed backup architecture (Master Server in Vienna) using disk‑to‑disk‑to‑tape, CDP and data‑shadowing for disaster recovery across 90 servers and 10 locations. Implemented in‑house with SEP support, the solution cut IT administrative overhead by over 65% (from ~23 to <8 hours/month), reduced annual maintenance costs by more than 70%, backed up the company’s multi‑terabyte production data centrally and was completed faster and well under budget.
