HINT AG, a Swiss provider of ICT services for hospitals, care homes and medical practices, faced the challenge of reliably backing up sensitive patient data in a highly virtualized environment while ensuring compliance with strict Swiss data‑residency laws. To meet these requirements, HINT AG selected SEP Software’s SEP sesam backup and disaster recovery solution to protect its National Healthcare Cloud and customer environments.

Working with SEP Software, HINT AG deployed SEP sesam across two Swiss data centers with disk staging, replication and an LTO tape library (~340 slots), protecting roughly 100–150 TB per week, ~800 virtual machines and backups for 35 healthcare customers. The solution delivers transaction log backups every 15 minutes, daily full backups, three on‑disk database versions (three days) and restores to the exact second, enabling fast, compliant recoveries, ongoing ISO/IEC 27001 testing and proven scalability over 11+ years.
