A SEP Software Case Study
Davos Klosters Bergbahnen AG faced the challenge of protecting mission‑critical, multi‑site IT systems — from hotel booking and payment systems to cable‑car controls, video feeds, snowmaking servers and employee records — across virtual and physical servers and mixed OS environments (Novell, Linux, Windows). Their existing backup product, Symantec Backup Exec, proved unreliable, so the company sought a central, robust backup solution; SEP Software’s SEP sesam was identified as a candidate.
SEP Software, recommended by Swiss distributor SKyPRO AG, analyzed DKB’s environment and migrated them from Backup Exec to SEP sesam, with installation completed in one day. The solution consolidated multiple disparate backup systems into a single, manageable platform that supports Novell, Linux and Windows, improved disaster preparedness through SEP training, and delivers 24/7 international support. As a result, SEP Software now backs up enterprise‑wide data for DKB (deployed since summer 2011), simplifying administration and ensuring reliable recovery of all critical services.
