A Sensource Inc. Case Study
The College of William & Mary’s Swem Library needed a more accurate way to track patron traffic and occupancy, since its older break-beam sensor could not reliably count groups entering at once or provide easy access to live data. SenSource Inc. partnered with the library to address this challenge with a Thermal Imaging People Counter and Vea analytics software.
SenSource Inc. implemented the thermal counting system to deliver accurate real-time occupancy data, even during high-traffic periods, helping staff monitor peak hours, improve staffing, and better prepare for emergencies. The results were significant: the library gained confidence in its counts, reported over one million visitors in a year, and was so satisfied with the solution that it purchased five additional sensors for other branches.
