Stadtwerke Rosenheim cuts unnecessary paper-bin pickups with Sensoneo's 92 sensors

Stadtwerke Rosenheim, the municipal services company for the town of Rosenheim, sought a cost-effective solution to monitor its paper waste bins. The challenge was to collect bins only when necessary to avoid unnecessary routes and optimize operations. They partnered with vendor Sensoneo to implement its ultrasonic smart sensors.

The solution involved deploying 92 Sensoneo sensors across 78 bin stands. This provided real-time fill-level data, enabling dynamic collection scheduling and route optimization. The results included an average fill level of 86% at collection, which eliminated unnecessary pickups. This led to significant resource savings and reduced emissions and traffic congestion through fewer collection trips.
