Soitron Group, working with Sensoneo, supported the City of Sofia in launching the first phase of a smart waste management project. The city wanted to understand how waste collection was performing in the capital’s busy center, monitor bin fill levels, improve service quality, and identify opportunities to optimize collection frequency and reduce litter.

Sensoneo implemented 33 smart waste sensors connected via LoRaWAN and integrated them with its Smart Waste Management System. The solution provided real-time bin data, route planning, statistics, and collection verification, helping Sofia monitor 1,100 general-waste bins, control service quality, and make data-driven decisions about bin placement and pickup efficiency.
