Operator ICT, Prague’s municipal enterprise for Smart City projects, needed a better way to monitor and optimize waste collection for 420 underground bins with separated waste. To support Prague’s Smart Prague 2030 “zero waste” goals, the city selected Sensoneo and its smart waste management solution, including Single sensors for underground bins.

Sensoneo equipped all 420 bins with sensors between November 2018 and January 2019, enabling fill-level monitoring and condition tracking, with data sent to Prague’s Golemio platform for visualization and predictive route planning. The project delivered new insights to improve collection efficiency, and Prague’s City Council later approved the final report and recommended expanding the solution to other underground bins and bottom-dump containers.
