Nitrianske Komunálne Služby (NKS), the waste management provider for the city of Nitra, wanted to reduce costs and environmental impact while improving the management of large-capacity and semi-underground bins. To address these challenges, NKS worked with Sensoneo and its smart waste monitoring solution, including Smart Sensors and the Smart Waste Management System.

Sensoneo installed ultrasonic Smart Sensors to monitor bin fill levels and provide route planning, statistics, reports, and predictions. As a result, NKS was able to collect only bins that needed emptying, reduce collection routes, and save fuel, vehicle wear, and labor costs, achieving a reported 30% reduction in waste collection costs while keeping the city cleaner and responding faster to overflows.
