City of Bratislava digitizes 85,000 bins with Sensoneo

The City of Bratislava faced inefficiencies in its waste management system, seeking to reduce unnecessary vehicle mileage, lower emissions, and improve collection transparency. To address this challenge, the city partnered with vendor Sensoneo for a large-scale smart waste management solution involving the digitalization of its infrastructure.

Sensoneo implemented a solution that included tagging 85,000 bins with RFID codes and installing 1,753 smart sensors to monitor fill levels in real-time. This provided data for dynamic route planning, preventing overflowing bins and unnecessary pickups. The results included a comprehensive digitalization of waste infrastructure, reduced operational costs and vehicle mileage, lower fuel consumption and emissions, and cleaner public spaces for citizens.
