The City of Bratislava partnered with Sensoneo to modernize its waste management operations as part of its circular economy strategy for 2021–2026. Facing the need for cleaner public spaces, more efficient collection, and lower mileage and emissions, the city set out to digitize its waste infrastructure and gain accurate data on bins, containers, and collection activity.

Sensoneo implemented a large-scale smart waste solution including RFID tagging and inventory digitization for 85,000 bins and containers, sensors on 1,753 containers, and WatchDog devices on 92 waste trucks. The system supports dynamic route planning, real-time fill-level monitoring, and automated collection verification, helping Bratislava reduce unnecessary pickups, optimize fleet utilization, and cut waste collection mileage and emissions while improving transparency and service efficiency.
