Solar/Wireless Solution Allows for Integrated City Surveillance Expansion

City of Stars, a Southern California municipality of 34,500 that hosts over 7.4 million visitors annually, faced growing gaps in its outdoor surveillance coverage as visitor numbers rose. Many needed locations lacked power and fiber, making traditional camera expansion cost prohibitive. After field tests and a public bid, the City selected Sensera Systems to provide a solar/wireless, integrable camera solution (SiteWatch-PRO2 cameras with the SiteCloud platform).

Sensera Systems deployed SiteWatch-PRO2 multi-sensor cameras and SiteCloud to deliver a fully integrated, portable solar/wireless system that integrates with the City’s Milestone VMS. The units offer automated provisioning, one-person installation in minutes, five days of autonomy, and thermal/night sensors, allowing the City to extend coverage into infill and hard-to-reach areas, give the Ops center and police remote access, speed deployments, and achieve a significantly lower total cost.
