A Sensely Case Study
The UK’s National Health Service (NHS) sought a way to proactively address non-urgent health issues and engage its vast patient population digitally. The West Midlands Integrated Care Alliance needed a solution that was easy to use, clinically valuable, and met stringent privacy requirements. To address this challenge, the NHS partnered with technology vendor Sensely.
Sensely developed the co-branded Ask NHS app, an avatar-based symptom checker that directs users to self-care information, appointments, or emergency services. The solution has been highly successful, with approximately 385,000 registered users and a 4.7-star app rating. Sensely's platform is estimated to save the NHS £10.14 per completed symptom check and reduce spend by 21% by shifting patients to more efficient services.
