Inigral is a San Francisco–based provider of private, branded Facebook communities for colleges that helps boost enrollment and retention by connecting prospective students and current users. Rapid growth pushed email volume to as many as five million messages per month (invitations, notifications, digests and administrative reports), which strained delivery from their app servers and left them without the deliverability expertise or analytics needed to ensure messages reached inboxes.
Inigral partnered with SendGrid for its scalable infrastructure, deliverability expertise and reporting; integration was straightforward and ongoing API work will enable tighter customization. The change produced a 99% delivery rate, an 11% increase in join rates and student engagement, and put Inigral on track to significantly expand the number of universities using its platform.
