How Tyler Technologies made remote municipal court visits possible during COVID-19 and beyond

Tyler Technologies, a leading public-sector software provider, needed a faster, more accessible way for municipal courts to serve citizens without requiring in-person visits—especially as COVID-19 disrupted normal court operations. Using SendGrid along with Twilio messaging, voice, chat, and video capabilities, Tyler developed its Tyler Virtual Court offering to support remote hearings, reminders, and communications.

SendGrid and the broader Twilio platform helped Tyler Technologies launch a working prototype in just two months and accelerate rollout when the pandemic hit. The solution enabled 21 courts to go live by May 2020, streamlined court interactions that were previously cobbled together from multiple tools, and improved convenience and efficiency for both courts and citizens.
