Murphy Geospatial - Customer Case Study

The customer, Murphy Geospatial, faced the challenge of performing crucial structural and environmental monitoring for a major, sensitive redevelopment near Regent's Park in London. Their task involved monitoring the demolition and construction works, including the protection of neighbouring properties and the London Underground's Jubilee and Metropolitan lines, which ran under and adjacent to the site. To achieve this, they required a robust system to install and maintain a vast network of sensors, including over 250 Senceive FlatMesh wireless tilt sensors, in a live and complex environment.

Murphy Geospatial implemented a solution from Senceive, utilizing their wireless FlatMesh tilt sensors to monitor tunnel deformation. Senceive recommended a fibre optic cable to ensure reliable, high-frequency data transmission over long distances, which was hailed as an elegant solution. By combining Senceive's technology with other systems, Murphy Geospatial developed an innovative 'patch scan' solution that has since been adopted by the industry, avoiding damage to structures and reducing installation times. The project was successfully completed, keeping all works on budget and schedule, and was shortlisted for industry awards.
