A Senceive Case Study
GEO-Instruments, a monitoring specialist, was tasked with supporting a railway bridge upgrade where a new walkway was being added. The challenge was to monitor structural movements with minimal disruption to both road traffic on the bridge and the electrified rail traffic below. They needed to gather high-frequency data on displacement to understand the impact of the additional loading. GEO-Instruments selected a wireless monitoring solution from Senceive to meet this challenge.
The solution implemented by Senceive used Optical Displacement Sensor nodes installed across the bridge to measure tilt and distance changes. The data was transmitted in near real-time to Senceive's WebMonitor™ cloud platform and then to GEO-Instruments' own portal for the client. This system provided automated alerts for any threshold exceedances, enabling the construction team to work more efficiently with fewer site visits and with improved safety, significantly reducing interruption to rail traffic.
