Pacific Consultants Co Ltd was engaged to ensure that mounting heavy camera equipment on the Umi no Mori Ohashi Bridge for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics would not compromise its structural integrity. The consulting firm required a monitoring solution to track any movement on the bridge and partnered with vendor Senceive to address this challenge.
Senceive's wireless FlatMesh Optical Displacement Sensor Nodes were installed to measure the bridge's movements. The solution successfully provided near real-time data, showing a minimal and safe displacement of only 2 mm during the camera installation. This measurable result, which was well within safe limits, allowed the games to be broadcast safely and confirmed the bridge's stability, with Senceive's technology providing critical peace of mind.
