How Australian gold producer Evolution Mining rolled out Senceive wireless monitoring platform to deliver live reporting across an open pit mine

Evolution Mining sought to introduce advanced deformation monitoring technology at its Mt Carlton gold mine to deliver real-time status updates and alerts for its 500m x 400m pit and 600m x 600m tailings dam. The challenge was to increase safety and efficiency for its teams by moving away from solely manual surveys of these large, potentially unstable areas.

The vendor, Senceive, implemented its GeoWAN solution, deploying over 20 wireless tilt sensors and piezometers across the site. This provided live data to multiple departments, dramatically reducing the need for manual surveying, saving time, and increasing safety by removing personnel from hazardous areas. Senceive's system also enabled automated, customizable alerts and supplied critical data for compliance reporting and proactive geotechnical management.
