Case Study: Billings Public Works achieves early warning for slope stability risks with Senceive InfraGuard

A Senceive Case Study

Preview of the Billings Public Works Case Study

How a deployment of InfraGuard™ intelligent wireless technology provides early warning of slope failures above the City’s residential areas

Billings Public Works faced a significant challenge monitoring the stability of slopes above the city, known as the Rims. Instability in this area created a flood risk for residential neighborhoods below from a nearby irrigation canal. To address this, they turned to Senceive for a solution using the InfraGuard™ intelligent wireless monitoring system.

Senceive implemented a network of wireless tiltmeters that were quick to install and provided real-time, remote monitoring. This solution gave the city immediate peace of mind and the ability to detect both gradual movement and trigger early warnings for sudden slope failures. The data collected has already helped Billings Public Works better understand slope behavior in relation to rainfall, providing valuable insights for future mitigation projects.
