BlockGen, the team behind the Stratumsphere SaaS platform for cryptocurrency mining businesses, needed a better way to monitor and log a fast-growing environment made up of many containerized services, hosts, and customer-specific resources. Before using Sematext, they were struggling to understand health and diagnose issues across thousands of mining-related events per hour, and didn’t want to spend scarce startup time and money running their own Elastic Stack.

Using Sematext for logs and infrastructure monitoring, with Rancher-based deployment and Kibana logging, BlockGen was able to get up and running quickly with minimal learning curve. Sematext helped them identify and fix bugs faster, add custom alert rules, and send notifications to Slack so issues could be resolved before customers noticed them; the company says Sematext directly improved the quality of Stratumsphere, though no specific numeric metric was provided.
