Shake Shack turned to Semarchy to tackle mounting data debt and siloed location information that was slowing operations and risking future technical debt. The restaurant chain needed a lightweight MDM solution—Semarchy xDM / the Semarchy Unified Data Platform—that could be stood up in weeks (not years) to master the “Shack List” and consolidate location data coming from ERP (Workday), POS (Aloha) and other sources.

Semarchy implemented the Unified Data Platform to centralize data from four main sources plus manually updated Excel files, build business-friendly UIs and stewarding workflows, and produce a single source of truth for Shake Shack’s ~250 locations. Delivered in a 4‑week, 1 FTE engagement, Semarchy’s solution improved data quality and governance, eliminated operational redundancy, and laid a scalable foundation for continued international growth.
