Digital Realty, a global data‑center operator with 157 properties across 12 countries and roughly 26 million rentable sq. ft., faced mounting technical and intellectual debt that undermined trust in its data. Long, rigid legacy MDM projects and inconsistent definitions across lines of business made it hard to get reliable master data for customers, facilities, products and people. To address this, Digital Realty selected Semarchy and its Semarchy xDM/Semarchy MDM approach as the core of its agile, multi‑domain MDM strategy.

Using Semarchy, integrated with Denodo for data virtualization and Birst for reporting, Digital Realty implemented a co‑existence, business‑driven MDM with Data Champions, a governance site, and clear data‑quality KPIs. The Semarchy deployment sped up acquisition integrations, improved alignment across teams, and restored stakeholder trust in master data—allowing the company to spend more time on analysis and less on data preparation while materially reducing time and risk for future integrations.
