Building an Interactive Insurance Product Development & Delivery Platform on the Data Lake

The American Association of Insurance Services (AAIS) needed to modernize how it builds and delivers insurance product data: carriers submitted widely varying formats, legacy mainframe and manual processes slowed actuarial work, and strict regulatory and audit requirements demanded traceability, versioning, and flexible delivery for nontechnical users. To address this, AAIS worked with Semarchy, deploying its Intelligent Data Hub (Semarchy xDM) alongside a governed Data Lake to provide MDM, data governance, quality, and self-service capabilities.

Semarchy implemented an integrated Data Lake + Intelligent Data Hub solution with configurable UIs, source connectors, versioning, auditability, and automation so data stewards — not IT — could manage product development and distribution. The result was measurable: a reported 75% improvement in efficiency, removal of IT as a bottleneck, stewardship-driven product ownership, built‑in rigor and auditability, and rapid time-to-value (proof-of-value in weeks), demonstrating Semarchy’s impact on AAIS’s product development and delivery.
