BAE Systems - Customer Case Study

BAE Systems, a global defense and aerospace contractor, faced a major data governance challenge as it transformed back‑office systems and upgraded export control and compliance processes. Previous MDM efforts were technically complex, manually intensive, and lacked business user stewardship, so BAE Systemssought a more agile, user‑friendly solution — ultimately selecting xDM from Semarchy after technical evaluations and site visits.

Semarchy implemented xDM through a Proof of Value and iterative deployments, enabling business users as data champions and reusing PoV work into the production configuration. The platform sped up data cleansing across Parties, Licenses and Components, vastly improved system integrations, reduced manual intervention and master‑data remediation, and allowed far more granular Controlled Parts Register and bill‑of‑materials management to strengthen export compliance and mitigate risk. Semarchy’s agility and flexibility also accelerated vendor selection and positioned the solution to scale across the enterprise.
