Douglas Unlocked Powerful Growth with a Breakthrough Promo Strategy

DOUGLAS, a beauty and fashion retail e-commerce company, wanted to understand which promotions truly drove incremental sales and margin across highly competitive markets in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. To answer that, it worked with Sellforte and its Promotion Effectiveness solution to compare promotions with different discount depths and mechanics, including minimum order value, duration, and percentage versus absolute discounts.

Sellforte decomposed sales and margin into detailed components such as cannibalization, halo, and media costs, helping DOUGLAS analyze many concurrent promotion types and identify the most effective and profitable combinations. The results showed that higher-discount promotions were just as profitable as shallower ones while delivering much higher incremental sales, giving DOUGLAS a stronger revenue-generating promo strategy and a more data-driven approach to planning.
