Using Leapfrog Edge to Automate Internal Resource Estimation Reviews at the Alpala Porphyry Copper-Gold Deposit, Cascabel Project, Northern Ecuador

SolGold, a leading exploration company developing the Alpala porphyry copper-gold deposit in northern Ecuador, needed a faster, more reliable way to review internal resource estimates as its geological model was frequently updated with new drilling and interpretation. Working with Seequent, the team used Leapfrog Geo, Leapfrog Edge, and Seequent Central to keep head office and site teams aligned on a single source of truth.

Seequent’s Leapfrog Edge was implemented to link directly with Leapfrog Geo and automatically flow geology updates into the block model and resource estimate, enabling near-full automation of internal estimation checks. This significantly reduced manual rework, sped up updates, and gave SolGold an early, realistic view of potential Mineral Resource Estimate outcomes, improving internal QA/QC and helping the company set better expectations for future estimates.
