Bibby HydroMap, a UK-based marine survey company supporting offshore wind, subsea cables, pipelines, and other marine infrastructure, faced the challenge of handling massive volumes of magnetic survey data and meeting tight turnaround times for complex seabed and UXO surveys. As offshore wind projects grew in scale, the team needed a faster, more efficient way to process and interpret data than spreadsheets could provide. Bibby HydroMap used Seequent’s Geosoft Oasis montaj and UXO software to address this challenge.

With Seequent’s software, Bibby HydroMap was able to process large datasets quickly, produce preliminary results rapidly, and better plan daily survey operations, such as identifying coverage gaps and infill needs. The company also improved its workflow through close collaboration with Seequent, which incorporated feedback into newer software versions. Beyond software, Bibby HydroMap’s d’ROP ROV helped the company survey buried cables in shallow, tidally challenging waters with a smaller vessel, reducing operating costs for clients and enabling work in stronger conditions.
