Alacer Gold Corporation, operator of the Copler Gold Mine in Turkey, needed a faster and more accurate way to support grade control in a busy open-pit operation. The company had already used Seequent’s Leapfrog Geo for geologic and resource modeling, and wanted to extend the software into the daily grade control process to better incorporate assay and production information while reducing risk.

Seequent implemented Leapfrog Geo as a supplement to Vulcan’s grade control workflow, enabling Alacer Gold to generate and update grade shells quickly, compare blast-hole, geology, and production data visually, and include information from previously mined benches. The team could produce a grade shell in about 10 minutes for daily use, improving workflow speed, communication, and model accuracy while further reducing risk exposure.
