Power Generation Service Provider worked with Seeq Corporation to improve Real-Time Production Potential (RTPP) calculations for power generation operations. Their challenge was that expected turbine output, based on manufacturer power curves, often differed from actual production because of component aging, inaccurate anemometers, and turbulence, making it difficult to plan operations with reliable data.

Seeq Corporation implemented Seeq’s Prediction Tool to train an RTPP model on clean operating data where turbines were communicating, generating power, and not curtailed. The solution removed unavailable and curtailed periods from the training set, improving prediction accuracy and saving significant time in validation and fine-tuning. As a result, the site reported more accurate RTPP to the grid operator every 5 minutes, helping improve system reliability and load balancing.
