Power Generation Service Provider worked with Seeq Corporation to tackle a common solar operations challenge: panel soiling and axis tracking faults that reduce plant output. Traditional approaches relied on rough assumptions and flat numbers, making it difficult to determine when cleaning or controller tuning would actually be worth the cost. The customer used Seeq’s analytics capabilities on Wonderware data to better understand plant performance and identify inefficiencies.

Seeq Corporation implemented a model built from periods of optimal performance, using clean-panel and minimal-tracking-deviation windows as training data alongside meteorology signals. The solution enabled continuous monitoring of soiling and tracking losses, plus dollar-based reporting to justify maintenance actions. Measurable daily impacts were quantified, including lost power, tracker fault losses, and soiling losses—for example, on 2/1/2019 the plant lost 9.2611 MW-d of power and an estimated $416.75 in revenue.
